City Soccer Club Announces Launch of City Connect: A National Platform for Top Talent and Coaching Development

Carlsbad, CA – City Soccer Club (City SC) is proud to unveil the City Connect Program, an initiative designed to recognize, unify and elevate the top talent among all City SC clubs nationwide. This program provides a premier platform for youth players in the U13/U14 and U17/U19 age groups to train, compete, and gain exposure. Additionally, the City Connect Program will incorporate opportunities for college recruiting for the U17/U19 players.

Each City SC club will have the opportunity to elect players to participate in a high-performance environment that combines top-tier training, national competition, and international experiences. Players will be led by a professional coaching staff with experience at the MLS, GA, and collegiate levels.

“City Connect is a natural extension of our commitment to long-term player development,” said Sean Gurley, Affiliate Program Manager at City SC. “It provides a unique opportunity for our players to be challenged in a high-level setting while representing the City SC identity on a national stage.”

“City SC is about connecting players, coaches, clubs, and communities,” Sean continued. “City Connect reflects that mission by providing an aligned development platform for both players and coaches.”

Coaching Development Initiative

In addition to the player experience, the City Connect Program will also serve as a coaching development platform across the City SC network. Selected coaches will be invited to take part in advanced training and educational opportunities as part of the program. These coaches will collaborate with professional and collegiate-level staff and gain valuable experience leading top-level sessions, further strengthening the City SC coaching community.

Program Highlights:

  • Advanced Coaching: Training led by MLS, GA, and college-level coaches, focused on individual and team development
  • High-Level Competition: Participation in showcase events in July 2025 for the U13/U14 and November 2025 for the U17/U19s
  • Recruitment Exposure: Structured programming designed to prepare players for the college identification process
  • International Experience: Select teams will travel internationally in 2026 for a professional-level training tour and international competition
  • Coaching Education: Dedicated pathway for coaches to gain exposure to best practices, methodology, and mentorship opportunities

The 2025 program kicks off with U13 and U14 teams in July—boys July 16–20 and girls July 23–27—in Carlsbad, CA. U17 and U19 teams will be in November (thanksgiving week) in preparation of college showcases.
